Natural doggy toothpaste recipe: for dog parents

Nearly 2 years ago both Indy and Keira had to have their teeth cleaned. For Keira this wasn’t such a big deal but Indy was 15,5 years old at the time. It was very scary to have him sedated at such an age and when the vet mentioned to me that brushing their teeth more often (I did it once a week..) would absolutely help in preventing them needing to get professional teethcleaning done.
So we instantly started doing this on a daily basis and taught it to Bash from about day 1.
While they don’t enjoy it, it does work amazingly well and we get compliments on how amazing their teeth look from the vet every time she checks their teeth.

Until recently I used a doggy toothpaste that we bought in store. But, since that has no ingredients listed at all, I decided I wanted something more natural and bumped into this recipe:

2 tablespoons of baking soda
2 tablespoons of coconut oil (which is SO good for dogs!)
1 drop of Peppermint essential oil (I use DoTERRA since I know these are completely safe)
Mix the lot together and start brushing!

I checked the recipe with our holistic vet and she fully approved :)

So if you’re not brushing your pup’s teeth yet on a regular basis, you may want to try this recipe!
